Bugaboo Boy & Frog

Hello!

Over at Catch The Bug there is a colour challenge with a beautiful green palette.

So, today I'm showing a card I made with the Boy and Bugs digi stamp from Bugaboo stamps.

The image was coloured with Spectrum Noir markers and outlined in light green with a few dots scattered around. The image was cut using a stitched rectangle die and the background inked, with the die still in place, to add some colour. Jade green DP was chosen for the background and this was matted onto black card. Olive green DP was used for a banner and a rectangle to add some interest. Both of these had their edges distressed and inked. The rectangle was curled in the top left corner to reveal a selection of die cut leaves, natural fibres, stamen and a frog.

The image was added on foam pads for dimension. The sentiment was stamped with a LCD dinkie and mounted on DP, then added to the card on foam pads.

Thanks for stopping by today.

xoxo

May Vera Lane

Hello friends,

A special warm welcome to my newest follower, Margaret.

I made this card using Vera Lane Studio digital stamps. I just love the cute and quirky characters created by Janet Klein.

I chose some gingham DP for the background. I edged it in Vintage Photo ink and matted it onto black card. The images were coloured with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut. They were all adhered on foam pads for dimension.

The digi sets I used are:

Whimsical May Birthday Girl and Rescue Puppies

Thanks for stopping by today.

Romantic Gift Bag & Tag

Hello and welcome to my latest follower, Carla!

Today I made a tag and a bag which, I feel, have a lovely romantic theme.

I love the colour washed flowers and have included a link to the blog where I discovered this technique.

I won DT Favourite at Crafting From the Heart with this project!

and 3rd place at Crafting Musketeers

TAG: I die cut the largest tag from the X-Cut tag collection. I used Trim Craft 'Wildflower' paper for the background and inked the edges with Memento Rose Bud ink.

The images are from Gecko Galz's  'Pretty in Pink Jewels' collage sheet . The lady image was cut and left as a domino rectangle whilst the cherry blossom image was fussy cut. I mounted the lady image on foam pads to give some dimension and glued the blossom to overlap it.

Rosebud ribbon was adhered down the left hand side of the tag. I used a hand held punch to die cut two butterflies from pink and white glitter paper and stuck these together just in the centre, so that they were 3D. I made some flowers from die cuts, colour washed and shaped them, and added small ivory pearls to the centres.

Colour washing has become my new favourite technique and I found it here on Kittie Kraft's blog.

A 'Love' charm was adhered to the side of the main image.

Light pink organza ribbon was threaded through the tag. I made a bow and stuck this at the top along with a few short strands of pink pearls.

BAG: Really I only altered/decorated this bag, as it is a shop bought craft bag from The Works - they are sold in sets of 4.

I cut a piece of the Wildflower paper to 3 inches by 4 inches and adhered this to the front of the bag. Rosebud ribbon was attached to the top and bottom edge. The image again is from Gecko Galz's 'Pretty in Pink Jewels' collage sheet. She was surrounded with pink pearls and die cut flowers which had been colour washed and shaped. A bow and pearl strands were added and a 3D butterfly. I wrapped doubled ribbon around the handle and added a butterfly made from two die cuts which were glued together back to back.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Black and White

Hello friends,

I'm back - twice in one day - goodness gracious!!

I'm showing a card I made for the Gecko Galz Facebook Group Challenge, 'Black & White'.
Each month there are 5 challenges to enter and the prizes are wonderful collage sheets.
(There is also a Blog challenge where the winner gets a whopping $25 to spend in the online store!)

Anyhow ... here is my card:

I made the card base from card stock which was die cut at the top to give the shape of a dressing  screen. The paper is from a very old paper stack by DCWV, and I blinged it up a little with clear stick-on gems. The beautiful image was a free one from one of the DT's blogs at Gecko Galz.  She was fussy cut to leave a narrow white border and mounted on foam pads onto black card which had its corners rounded.

The flower embellishment was cut from paper in the same pack and mounted on foam pads. Three clear crystal gems were adhered to the top right corner of the image mat. This was then adhered on foam for more dimension.  A small hand tied, organza bow and a 'For You' glittered tag were added to the top left side.

Thanks for stopping by today!
