Gecko Galz Snow Girl Tag

Hello!

Today it's my turn to show another tag I made for Gecko Galz.
Remember that if you leave a comment below and a comment on the main blog (which is here), you could win a prize. Daily prizes are being given away throughout the whole month of December, so please visit us every day if you can!

There is still a few hours left to join the Gecko Galz December challenge.

The theme is 'Tag, You're It'.

The only rule is that you must use at least one Gecko Galz product (this can be one of the freebies, so check back through the blog and also look at the freebies on the Pinterest page, or of course you can buy at the Etsy store!)

I made a wine bottle tag (and a chocolate box sleeve):

The wine bottle tag is super easy to make.

1. Cut a rectangle of thick card (8cm x 30 cm)
2. Score the card at 15cm and 22cm and fold using a bone folder or similar.
3. Cut  3 pieces of paper for the background, making them a half a centimetre smaller than each section, so that a border is visible  - I used the lovely Winter Wonderland paper pack.
4. Distress the edges of the papers with scissors or a distress tool and ink (I used Vintage Photo distress ink)
5. Attach papers to card base. Add glitter.
6. Cut a circle from the centre portion to fit over the bottle neck - a die or punch is handy for this.
7. Select an image and fussy cut then adhere using foam pads. I used the beautiful snow girl image from the Christmas Cuties collage set.
8. Add some lace to trim along the top of the front panel
9. Add a sentiment or greeting.  This one is die cut and inked from the Christmas Sayings Digital Stamp Set.
10. Add a bow to finish the tag.

The chocolate box sleeve is also easy to construct:

1. Measure the box and cut the card accordingly adding a couple of millimetres on each panel, so that the box will slide in easily.
2. Score the card and crease using a bone folder.
3. Secure the overlap in place to make the sleeve shape using strong double sided tape.
4. Cut out 4 panels of patterned paper, making them slightly smaller than the box side so that a border will be visible.
5 Distress the edges and ink.
6. Select images and fussy cut. My main image is from the Christmas Cuties collage set. The Santa bingo card is from Alter It set and the holly from the Christmas Haberdashery set.
7. Attach images on foam pads.
8. Add glitter and a sentiment or greeting.
9. On the other three panels I added a die-cut floral panel.

Here are the Gecko Galz products I used:

Christmas Sayings Digital Stamp Set ;       Winter Wonderlands

Christmas Cuties  ;     Christmas Haberdashery;           Alter It

You can see the other Christmas tags I made here and here.

Don't forget to join in the Tag challenge here.

Vera Lane Chocolate box sleeve and Wine Tag

Hello!

Just a few more days now to the big day. How are your preparations coming along?  I'll bet there are a lot of you that are finished already. Not me!!! I'm a last-minute-kinda-gal when it comes to Christmas. I'm always nipping out for something else that I've remembered.

Today I'm sharing two projects that are perfect for last minute presents.
I try not to buy chocolates and wine as gifts, but often add them in as extras. These projects will make them just that little bit more special with your personal touch.

The first is a chocolate box sleeve. The chocolates are dark mint thins. One A4 sheet of thick white card will make this, but you can adapt to fit any box shape and size.

I measured the sides of my box and added a couple of mm. I scored the card and folded it securing with double sided tape. I cut panels for the four sides and inked them with a blending tool and inks.  Next I stamped with a Marion Emberson stamp called 'Make A Wish' and heat embossed with Snowflake Tinsel.
The girl image is from a Vera Lane Studio set called The Organics. I coloured her with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut. The sign post and yellow bird are from a set called Birdy and the flying bird is a free digi from the Vera Lane Facebook Group. All images were added on foam pads to one panel of the sleeve.

The next project is a wine bottle tag. And yes, my wine bottle is huge! It will be coming along to my sister's on Christmas Day.

The tag is a rectangle of card, scored and folded and with a die-cut circle to pop over the neck of the bottle. Three panels were inked and heat embossed (as above). From the centre section a scalloped circle was die-cut.
The image is another from Vera Lane Studio; this time from The Fairy House set. She's coloured to match the background and has glossy accent eyes and sparkly glitter wings. She was attached to the tag on foam pads. The sentiment was computer generated, cut into strips and inked before being glued down.

I hope you will pop over to Vera Lane Studio to see the wonderful quirky characters that live there.

These were the three sets that I used:

Jolly Santa: {PIN}spirational Challenge #181

Hello crafty friends!

Well, it's nearly here!  I hope your plans and preparations are going smoothly.

I'm going on a works Christmas Party tomorrow, even though I left this workplace just over 2 years ago - it's lovely that we all still meet up! I'm looking forward to it.

Today is the start of a new challenge at
{PIN}spirational Challenges.
Challenge #181 is our last one this year.
We'll be back next year with a new challenge on the 17th January.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Robyn's Fetish.

And this is the inspiration photo:

Beautiful Christmas stockings hanging up, ready and waiting for Santa!
How will they inspire you?
Lovely soft colours?  Stocking images? A real-life stocking you've made yourself?
Remember, our challenge is always Anything Goes, so make any project you like!
I hope you have time to make something to enter into our challenge this time.

I chose to feature Father Christmas himself for this challenge.  I used a Robyn's Fetish digital stamp called Jolly Ole Santa to make my card:

I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir markers and added glitter to his collar, cuffs and headband. I fussy cut the bottom section of the image, then die-cut the top with a scalloped circle. I inked the edge of the scallop in red and double mounted it onto two more scalloped  circles cut from patterned paper. I adhered the circle to a rectangular card to make an over the top card. Christmas ribbon, which  also acts as the sentiment, was added along the bottom edge.

My card achieved Top 3 status at Angie's Digital Stamps.

That's all from me today.  hope you'll pop over to
to check out the gorgeous designs by the rest of the DT.

We would love for you to take part in the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Vera Lane Snowy Shaker Card

Hello crafty friends!

First, I'd like to welcome Stacey, my latest follower. I'm so pleased you're here!

I have more exciting news ....
drum roll, please.....
I've been selected to be on the first-ever Vera Lane Studio Design Team!

I am beyond excited, as there are so many talented ladies in our Facebook group and I feel honoured to be part of the new 2017 DT.

Here is a simple, little shaker card I made using two of the free digital images that you can get if you choose to join our Vera Lane Facebook group
It is a very friendly community and the owner and artist, Janet Klein, creates gorgeous, quirky image sets at very competitive prices... please take a look at her shop, Vera Lane Studio, here and then come and play on Vera Lane - you're guaranteed to have fun!

To make the background, I first cut a crescent moon out of paper to act as a mask. I  adhered it with low-tack tape, then inked the card using a blending tool and various blue distress inks. A small amount of water was sprinkled over the ink and blotted immediately to remove some of the colour.  The star stamp was inked with clear embossing ink, then heat embossed with Snowflake Tinsel embossing powder. A stamped sentiment was added.

I coloured the images (Doodle border and Penguin -  did I mention they are both free when you join VLS Facebook group, along with many others!!) with Spectrum Noir markers and added glossy accents to the penguin's eyes. They were glued directly onto the inked background.

To make the shaker:  The 'window' is white card with a scalloped square (X-cut) die cut from the centre. A piece of clear acetate was taped beneath the die cut shape. It is important to make sure this glue dries properly before you add the glitter, or alternatively use double sided tape and make sure that it is completely covered by the acetate.
Foam tape was placed all around the edge of the image, thus allowing depth/space for the glitter and sequins to move. Glitter was added and the window was placed on top.

The whole shaker element was then attached to a card base.

👭👬👭

Here are the steps in a nutshell:

1.  Make background
2. Adhere coloured images
3. Make window topper
4. Add foam tape around image (the tape will stop the glitter etc, from escaping!)
5. Add glitter/sequins/buttons etc.
6. Adhere window top
7. Attach to card base.

Thanks for taking time to stop by today.
xoxo

Gingerbread Bestie

Hello!

Today is the start of a brand new challenge at
If You Give A Crafter A Cookie.
This is the last challenge of 2016 - you can enter your projects until Dec 28th.
We shall be back next year, on January 12th, with the next challenge.

Our sponsor is the wonderful Sherri Baldy.

And here is the image to spark your imagination:

.

It's a gorgeous gingerbread house.
How will it inspire you?

Sherri is offering 3 digis as the prize for our winner.
I was lucky to be given one to work with - I chose the Gingerbread Bestie and went along with a similar colour scheme to the photo.

I won DT Favourite at Cards in Envy with this card.

My image was coloured with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut leaving a thin white border. The background paper is a digital download from Imagine That called Merry and Bright. I matted this onto black card. I added a white die-cut lattice and some die-cut fancy corners. Glittery gold mesh was placed across the centre and the Bestie image was mounted on foam pads for dimension. I felt that the card was fussy enough, so decided to leave it without a sentiment.

That's all from me for today. Now it's over to you...

Please pop over to the

If You Give A Crafter A Cookie
challenge blog to check out the lovely designs by the rest of the DT.

We would love for you to share your projects in the challenge!

You could win digi stamps or become one of our 'Top Cookies'!

Thanks for stopping by today!

ATC: Christmas Fishes

Hello!

Welcome to my latest follower, Debbi Taylor! Lovely to have you join me.

Today I'm showing an ATC I made for the Wicked Wednesday challenge.
The theme this week is Winter Hats or Accessories, and as the lovely Miss Rach is the sponsor, I decided to use a Miss Rach digi which you can find here.
Miss Rach has some lovely digis at very reasonable prices - if you haven't visited, let me tell you - it's well worth your while!

Anyhow, here is my ATC:

I used glitter card and mirri card for the background and used a border die to cut waves.  I die cut some seaweed from patterned paper and left the fronds loose. I coloured my clown fish with markers and added some glitter to his hat's fur trim.  He's attached on foam pads for a bit of dimension. I added some splatters of watered down white acrylic paint to represent bubbles and a hand written sentiment with inked edges.

Thanks for stopping by today!
